Halima Said

Licensed Counsellor

I am dedicated to supporting individuals in their journeys toward self-understanding and healing. My approach is holistic, recognizing that each person is a complex interplay of mind, body, and spirit. To truly support someone, I believe it's essential to consider all aspects of their being— including their physical health, emotional state, social connections, and spiritual beliefs.

Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of mental health concerns. My work includes supporting clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, relational challenges, and life transitions. I am deeply committed to helping people reconnect with themselves and others in meaningful, authentic ways.

As a couples therapist, I have worked extensively with multiracial and multireligious couples, helping partners navigate cultural differences, religious identity, communication challenges, intimacy concerns, and relational dynamics. I also provide sex therapy, supporting clients in addressing issues related to sexual connection, desire discrepancies, and emotional intimacy in romantic relationships.

I bring four years of experience working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, including two years at a specialized treatment center in San Diego, California. There, I supported clients across IOP (Intensive Outpatient), PHP (Partial Hospitalization), and outpatient levels of care, treating a range of diagnoses including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and body dysmorphia. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the emotional and psychological complexities tied to disordered eating and body image.

I have also had the honor of working with clients from diverse cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds. This has reinforced my commitment to culturally responsive therapy— acknowledging how one’s identity and lived experiences shape their mental health and worldview. I strive to create an inclusive and affirming space where every client feels seen, heard, and valued.
